Sep 10,  · We also get renditions of Tell It Like It Is, It Takes Two(Speaking of Motown-Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston), When Something Is Wrong With My Baby(By label-mates Sam & Dave) and Bring It on Home to Me. Lovey-Dovey is a sweet item as well as Ooh Carla, Ooh Otis. Note that this album was Otis' 6th and final studio effort and it was Carla's 4th/5(70).

  5. Apr 05,  · Otis and Carla excel when they're playing off of each other on_King & Queen_. "Tramp," as song in which Otis and Carla trade insults and comebacks, and "Ooh Carla, Ooh Otis" work especially well. I listen to this album in the mornings a lot. It's a good wake-me-up and by the time I'm out the door and off to work, I'm in a very cheery mood/5(8).

  7. A fairly swell collection of duets between Otis and Carla. They fit together like, well, King and Queen. If you like the Stax/Memphis sound and Otis Redding and/or Carla Thomas, you can't go wrong on this one. Their version of Eddie Floyd's "Knock on Wood" is an absolute classic. Great Album. Buy it before it goes out of print!
  8. Otis Redding never recorded a lighter, more purely entertaining record than King & Queen, a collection of duets with Stax labelmate Carla wayderwtenthobbruberfomuwacuvame.coinfo all likelihood inspired by a series of popular duets recorded by Marvin Gaye-- indeed, "It Takes Two," Gaye's sublime collaboration with Kim Weston, is covered here -- the record serves no greater purpose than to allow Redding the chance to run 9/
